We met up with some of Peter&#8217;s family in Zion, but for the most part it was just the two of us for endless miles of open road &#8211; listening to music, telling stories, basking in stretches of beautiful silence, and honestly just getting to know each other all over again in this new season of life. Parenting a pre-teen is both harder and more rewarding than I could have imagined. I love the way our friendship is changing and\u00a0developing in new ways all the time&#8230; I hope this trip was something she&#8217;ll treasure forever; I know I will.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:
